Welcome! I am John Kerstiens, Broker Associate with Battle Creek Agency. My wife and I, alond with 2 sons make our home in Piedmont, South Dakota. I was born and raised in western South Dakota on my family's ranch. I graduated from Sturgis Brown HS and attended Dickinson State University where I graduated with a degree in Agriculture Sales & Service.

My career has taken a few different paths along the way since I graduated college. I have worn a lot of hats throughout, and have always focused on working hard, making ethics a top priority, and doing a job for others that is better than I would do for myself. I spent 4 years as a lobbyist for a large family farm organization and worked on multiple issues in South Dakota and Washington, DC. From there I went on to spend 8 years as a community banker, working my way up to VP of Commercial & Ag Lending for a multi-million dollar asset bank. In 2020 I decided to follow my father's footsteps and became a real estate agent. 

I specialize in all classes of real estate with my focus being on Ranch, Horse, Residential and Land properties. My background allows me to understand your needs as a buyer or seller,  provide you with expert negotiation, and a full understanding of the banking industry- helping you find the right financial product that fits your model.
